Rush Poker, Vegas and Heads up SNG's

Last time I left off I was playing Heads up SNG's exclusively and then out of the Blue came a new way to play Poker called Rush Poker.

I'll start off with the 55 SNG's. I was pretty much trying to play about 20 per night and I had mixed results. I ended up playing 257 @ 55 buck for a total profit of 127.50 plus 173.50 in Rack Back. I was running really well at these out of the the gate and was up over 1500 at one point and ended on a down turn right when Rush Poker was coming out. The worst part about the whole thing is I got into a battle against one Guy and it just seems like no matter what I just couldn't win. I was stuck almost 1000 against this one guy until I finally called it quits to focus on Rush Poker.

Alright, The most evil thing ever invented, Rush Poker. Basically, I'v been trying to play 3 to 4 tables a couple hours per night and I ended out the month +259 but here is the best part. I also generated $1717.38 dollars of Rake. Just think if these sites Raked at half of what they are Raking now? Well anyway @ 27 percent that puts me at $463 in Rake Back for the month playing Rush poker just 13 days! I'll expect to get at least a 1000 bucks back for next month if not 1500.

So far I have been playing Rush poker as tight as I ever played online. It's to the point that my avatar has changed to an eagle in Poker Tracker. For those that don't have PT that is code for Tight aggressive which is basically where you want to be at on-line. I haven't really been tilting too much playing this format so far but I think I could be up at least a 1000 on the month if I had back a couple of hands. One thing that I notice right off the bat was that I was losing money in the first 3 positions and killing from the button. Pretty much I have given up on pretty hands like AK and AQ and a bunch of pair UTG. and this changed around in a few short days. For February I'm going to try and play only Rush Poker and we'll see if I can stick to one game for a whole month. If you notice Jan. I started out playing Super Tubro's and Got killed switched to HE SNG and now it's just RP. I would like to stick to the same game for a month and see where the chips lie at the end of the month. My Goals for the month is just to stay profitable and have RB pad my account.

VEGAS BABY:

Out of the blue on Friday afternoon I got a call from a friend of mine asking if I wanted to go to Vegas and get this. The Fight is Paid for and it is a awesome suite at the RIO. I of course jumped on the deal and I'm flying out next Friday and going stay out there through the Super Bowl. I'm not a big Tournament player but I have a feeling I'm going to play a bunch of 'em out there. Of course I'll be living at the cash game tables as well. I'm sure I should be able to grind out a couple hundred each day out there. I have to go find my tourist cloth's.....lol

Good luck everyone I have to run!!!!

Status Report since I quit Super Turbo

K, I shifted gears and quit the Super Turbo's and moved to $55+2.5 Heads up Turbo SNG's. So far I have been running super hot at this level winning 76 vs. 42 losses for 7 winning days st8 so far.

The number break down:

7 days Net Won: $1520
ROI: 22.40 (If I can keep running over 15 percent for a month or 2 I would be super happy!!!!10 percent is more likely)
Rake paid: $295
Rake that is due back @ 27 percent: $79.65

I'm going to keep plugging away at the 55's for now with no urge to move up at this point. If I get up over 10 Dimes I'll start to think about moving up but until now I need to stay put and build build build.

That comes to the main reason I'm trying to build. Pennsylvania have just legalize poker in Pennsylvania and I do have some roll for live games it is not where I would like it to be at this point. Looking over my stats from last year I would up over 7 dimes playing out live in mostly just home games in the area but like a fool I have spend most of this money on Booze, Bass Guitars and other musical equipment. Being that I had to step away from my BAND due to time constrains I will not need to be buying any more equipment keeping my roll in tack to the time to time downswings. I also have quit smoking well I cheated a little bit I have moved to the e-cig which is about 90 percent cheaper than regular cigs.

I have run out of time and Have to run. It's off to some parties for the rest of today. Have fun everyone and Good Luck!!!!

Gave up on Super Tubros for now

I don't mind a beat from time to time but it seemed to me that luck hasn't been on my side in the super turbos. I downloaded a copy of SNG wizard and pretty much have been hitting around 90+ percent the recommended way of playing but either I have the calling standards setting off or I'm making some other mistake that I haven't been able to put my finger on. If I can learn how to perform better on the bubble I may come back some day.

It is time to go back to what I know best. I started grinding the $55+2.5 Head Up SNG's on FullTilt. I did a little test run last night and I won 16 and lost 4 for a profit of 390.(my first uptick in 5 days) Currently, I'm a little short stacked for playing this level but it is a risk that I'm willing to take at this point. I'm currently sitting on about 14 buy-ins plus I have about 4 buy-ins sitting in my Rake Back account. I'll feel much better once I'm sitting on 30-40+++++ buy-ins.

One reason I know I can be successful at this level is I use to kill this level on Pokerstars. Obv. I would get bored and start moving up to the 110's 220's and even the 345's and maybe even move obv. I would get killed once I moved up and then move on to playing someother games. I'm going to try to stay at this level for at least 3 plus months. I'v decided it is time to stop playing around and it is time to build up some serious roll and be ready once the Poker Tables are opened in Pennsylvania. I want to be able to walk into any of the new poker rooms with @ least 2-3 thousand in my pockets. The first 6 month's to a year in the new poker rooms in Pennsylvania should be like beating up @ 01cent 02cent on Pokerstars.

I hope everyone wishes me luck and I'm going to not try and lie to myself and just stick to my level. NO MOVING UP FOR NOW!!!!!(I'm talking to myself, it is time to sign off.)

Am I sticking to 2010 goals?????

So far I have been sticking to a plan for 2010. Since my last blog I have discovered SUPER Tubros on Full Tilt. I have been playing ONLY the 14+1 and I have played 546 in the last 6 days for a profit of 424 dollars plus 147 in Rake Back for a total of 571. With the super Tubros I should be able to play at least 1500 per month and hopefully staying profitable.

I will tell you that if you can't handle taking a beat never ever play super tubros!!!! I'm not one to complain about beats but I will tell you on Jan. 2 I got every possible beat put on me and then some. I was down 471 for the day. Cards do turn and I managed to be up 504 today by playing just 110 tournaments.

Currently, I'm firing up 4 to 6 at a time depending how I feel. I noticed that I have been making some bonehead mistakes when I have 6 going. ie. shoving with 700 in chips with one guy that can bust me on the bubble. Of course I never ever win in these situations so I have been trying to avoid them at times.

I did a little reading about super turbos and they claim that you should much AK most of the time during the first level. It sounds good in practice but more often then not you will get your AK in vs AQ AJ and even A10 kq k10 jq ect. ect. (and sometime even vs 8 3 off) and lower about half the time with the other half being a coin toss vs. a pocket pair and the rare once while vs. AA or KK. For now I have been mucking it if the AK is verses a player that I know is going to play it screwed down for the first level or two.

I'm currenly sitting on about 700 plus 200 is on the way from last months Rake Back. If anyone ever need help setting up a rake back account on Full Tilt please send me and email @ swanny88@gmail.com and I will make sure everything gets setup correctly. This is only for people that doesn't already have a full tilt account.

Tip of the Day:::

Pick a level. Crush it! and stick with it for awhile. I have known this for years and what do I do. I start crushing a level and then I decide that I'm going to be a HORSE player or 8-game player or some other game. The next thing I know all of the money I grinded is in some 8-game sharks hands.... I think you get the point.

This Donk is signing off for the night.

Time for some 2010 goals

It's been a while since I threw together a little poker blog Fulltilt is down tonight for some reason so I guess it time for a little blog. Since my last post of turning 50 Dollars into 5000 there has been some changes. 1st. I gave up on Pokerstars for now. I have been running bad at the site for months and I needed a change of scenery. I lost the 50 btw mostly because I went off of the plan that I set forth for myself and whenever you do that you will fail 99 percent of the time. The other 1 percent of the time you'll wake up with 20 g's in your account that you will most likely lose in a couple of short days.

So I started searching google for Rackback deals. It turns out I was lucky that I was loyal to pokerstars and I never signed up for a Fulltilt account(people that signed up for FT without RB know what I'm talking about). I remember reading many times on 2+2 that you could get 27 percent RB (Rack Back) from the site plus you get a 100 percent deposit bonus up to 600 bucks.

Here's a linky if you would like to join yourself http://www.fulltiltrakeback.com/ref/11253/

The first month playing at Fulltilt I got back $242.98 bucks in Rack Back only playing a couple of hours a day. Plus I cleared off about half of a 600 dollar bonus. Then proceed to work off the rest of the bonus this month leaving me with about 1200 bucks in my account. I was a bit all over the place starting out with playing 3/6 limit short handed. Some Head's Up Pot Limit Omaha then finally to some SNG's

Short Handed Limit HE. At first I was killing the game but then dumped most of my winnings back in a short period of time. Without getting into a bunch of Details. I use to play a bunch of s/h limit HE years ago but it seems like most people have adjusted to play the game correctly making it a tough game to beat.

Pot Limit Omaha I only played this one day and I think I would have over 2K in my account if I never ventured over. I'll be back some day but for the time being I'm staying away.

Which brings me to SNG's. I use to play loads of Head's up SNG's on Pokerstars and could consistently beat the 55's. My biggest problem is I would make money for a couple of month's st8 and then venture over to some other game out of boredom and get my head kicked in. Next thing I know I'm not properly banked to play the 55's move down and start to run bad or keep running to the games I leak at trying to make back what I was stuck. Which brings me to my newest plan.

My Plan for 2010:

I already cashed out 600 bucks, my initial deposit and left myself about 700 in my Full Tilt account. I also have over 150 sitting in my Rack Back account that I can get at anytime since I'v been a member for over 30 days. I'll use this cash as my safety net for now.

I'v been playing 2 types of SNG's on Fulltilt. The 12 dollar Turbos and the 15 dollar super Turbos but for the purpose of this exercise I'm going to stick to the 12 dollar Turbos.

I fire up 6 at a time and try to play at least 3 racks per day. Let's just say 400 per month. So far in December here are my #'s

EmptyU 354 $1 $9 11% $445 - N/A FullTilt S<=20 Spd=T SNG Only

I know that I'm not going to run @ 11 percent for ever but If I even stay @ 5 I'll be happy. So I'm up 445 playing @ this level. I did take a shot @ the 22's and your going to laugh at these numbers.

EmptyU 17 -$22 $22 -90% -$368 Super Tilt N/A FullTilt S20-30 Spd=T SNG Only

Who runs @ -90 percent????? I guess I do.... Now this is what I short sample size will get you. But I will tell you I don't even want to get into the stories on how you only cash in 1/17 SNG's but it does happen.

Ok, this is 354+(17*2) which = 104.76 Dollars in RB for the month.

Alright I'm all over the place tonight....So I'm going to try and make this simple.

I'm going to play mostly the 12 Turbo's in Jan. if I make it over 1200 bucks I'm going to take another shot at the 22's. If I have time once or twice a week I'll play the night Daily Double. I did double cash in that the last time I played with a FT getting knocked out 8th.

Goals: Some life, Some poker
1.) Stay away from on-line Cash games for now!!!!!!
2.) Stick to my SNG plan. (this is always a hard one for me)
3.) Stay of the the cigs, Been doing great lately- using a e-cig currently - maybe another blog someday
4.) start exercising (yea, like this is ever going to happen but I'm going to try)
5.) Blog more often not just when Full Tilt in down....lol
6.) Get back to studying the game more often. I have like 50 books and I can't remember the last time I picked one up. I did read most of them though btw.
7.) No more crazy shots unless they are planned. - another great idea if only practiced

Next Blog: Live Area Cash Games 2010 maybe even some video...

Rough First night

I think I mentioned in my first post that I did have a chance of going broke. Well, let me tell ya. I have been to my last buyin twice so far but I'm currently sitting on 18.04...A little less than 3 Buy-in's @ the 6.25 level. I'm going to stay @ the 6.25's even thought there is a 50/50 chance of going broke.

It was so bad that I had to sit @ the 1cent 2cent table just to make 14 cents to buy-in one last time. I got lucky for once and I did win that tourney.

I may be short but trust me. I will not play like I'm "Scared Money"

Here are my stats so far:

swanny 30 -$1 $6 -17% -$32

Let's hope these stats get better or I'm going to be sending some money to Costa Rica via Western Union....lol
